There are plenty of opportunities to get involved with Hofstra Today. Below is a list of Producer-level positions that interested students can apply for.
Producers
- Supervise segment producers, news director, and head writer
- Prepare the rundown
- Coordinates design and structure of the show
- Approves ideas for long lead stories, packages, and discussions
- Produce weekly interview segments
Associate Producer
- Check Videos in BPix
- Print Scripts and rundowns and distribute to crew and talent
- Produce any live field segments
- Do other tasks as assigned by Producers
News Director
- Assign News stories for the news desk and collaborate with the host on in-depth
segments. - Will determine select stories to be written by him/her and delegate rest to the head
writer.
Head Writer
- Writing stories and tosses as assigned by the News Director
- Assign writing to teams or writers and various production assistants
Production Manager
- Design and keep set plans and drawings
- Collaborate with Producers on Crew List and set painting
- Assist Reporters and Producers with Technical problems
- Submit Equipment requests night before show days
- Set up live stream and capture
Video Supervisor
- Manages Video spreadsheet
- Assigns videos to be edited amongst video editors
- Coordinates with AP to ensure all video works in BPix and fixes problems
Graphics Supervisor
- Manages Graphics Spreadsheet
- Assigns graphic numbers on spreadsheet
- Assigns graphics to be created
- Coordinates with Op and Creators to ensure graphics are being received in Chyron
